Memory is a malleable resource altered by time and experience. The need to make these images came from my memory and the desperation to preserve things as they once were. The spaces that I have chosen are locations that have been left to fall by the wayside. They have deteriorated in function and physical appearance. Imagine the disappointment of a child when she returns to her favorite childhood amusement park to find that it has been abandoned. When brought together, my memory of these places and their current state do not quite match up. Somewhere between what the spaces are and what they were is where these images live. These places hold my memories. These places made my home.
