Artist Statement

For me, the most amazing thing about photography is the simple fact that it allows you to stare. You can take a picture of someone or something and then see it, however big or small, right there on a piece of paper! I think it’s important to show a viewer something they may not take the time to observe with their own eyes as they are going through the motions of day-to-day life: strangers that are passed without notice, little lives all jammed together but at the same time so separated. I am interested in using photography as a way to document my own encounters and interactions while I try to constantly remind myself to take risks and let curiosity lead the way!
