Born in Jerusalem, Israel, Yoav moved to the United States in 1997 and holds a diploma from the New England School of Photography, a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from New York’s Columbia University. He is currently on the faculty at Mass College of Art and Columbia University. He has exhibited in such venues as the Jerusalem National Theater, Nathan Bernstein gallery, Office Ops with Amnesty International, Columbia University in New York, the Photographic Resource Center, Cameron Gallery and FX Gallery in Boston, Northern Kentucky University and at the Blue Sage Gallery in Phoenix. His work is featured in The Bernard Toale Gallery- the Boston Drawing Project, the permanent collection of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and in the Museum of New Art in Rochester. He has been the recipient of numerous awards such as the Mortimer Frank Travel Award, the Agnes Martin and M Roche scholarships and has had work in numerous magazines from Artsmedia to Asian Journal.
